Guide to visiting the Timanfaya National Park
Recommendations and tips
- Try to avoid the middle hours like 11am to 2pm. Some days it’s saturated at 10am. Early or last hour visit is recommended. Some days the wait may be longer than 2 hours and you are not allowed to get out of the car.
There are usually less crowds on weekends. - Bring a jacket or coat if you can, given the altitude above sea level and the wind, the thermal sensation can change drastically even when the coastal area is hot.
- Take water and food in the car in case the waiting time is long. Please note that there are no toilets available until you reach the car park.
